A Message From The Chairman, Rich Poston
Welcome to the Antelope Valley Black Chamber of Commerce.
It’s my pleasure to serve as your chairman. Even with a troubled economy it’s more important today for us to join together and support one another. Over the last 12 months thousands of small businesses have closed across the nation and if you look around some of them right here in the Antelope Valley. Depressing statistics if you look at the glass as half empty, but with your help we can began a trend to reverse those numbers. In order to stop the bleeding we must support our local businesses and members so that have the chance to remain open and forge ahead.
If you care to host a business seminar or workshop (or know of someone who will be conducting one in the near future) contact us so our members may benefit, giving them the necessary tools and resources that will provide much needed support.
We are currently hosting monthly networking luncheons and quarterly mixers (see our event calendar) or watch your e-mails for dates and locations. In addition, we are seeking Ambassadors for our depleted committee; if you are interested please call.
Beginning 2010 we will add various events such as our Celebrity Golf Tournament, Health Fair, Job Fair, Miss Antelope Valley Black Chamber, Installation, The Unity Picnic (with cook-offs), Trip to the White House (to meet our first black president) and more…stay tuned and please get involved.
